About

Dr. Fran Marinic-Jaffer's focus is in the area of student and family advocacy in the area of disability, minority rights and education. She attends Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) meetings, Individual Education Plan reviews and case conferences to support accommodation and accessibility rights. Her work extends to other rights forums. Dr. Marinic-Jaffer has been supporting families and students for 30 years to support inclusive education initiatives at elementary, secondary and post secondary levels. She holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education, Adaptive Instruction from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Within the context of these studies she focused on inclusive education and adaptive teaching to provide access to students with disabilities to mainstream, regular class curriculum. She further focused on the area of Trisomy 21 Down Syndrome, and the role of neurological diversity in adaptive instruction to meet individual disability accommodation needs. Dr. Marinic-Jaffer also holds a Doctorate in Education, from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, in the area of disability and inclusion, focusing on policy and practice. She has also obtained her Juris Doctor from Windsor Law and is currently a Barrister and Solicitor in Ontario.

Ashif Jaffer

Ashif Jaffer graduated from Brebeuf College with academic honors. He was accepted to York University on an entrance scholarship. He has completed 24 courses at Ryerson University in the area of human rights involving critical disability studies, race, feminism and lgbtq issues. He is currently working towards completing his degree. He also holds certification in Advancing the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act from Ryerson University.

Immigration Medical Inadmissibility Consulting

Dr. Fran Marinic-Jaffer has been helping families for over 26 years to permanently immigrate to Canada in cases of medical inadmissibility on the basis of disability. Her work entails preparation of future care plans to support these individuals to settle in Canada. Within the scope of her practice she has provided assistance to clients from the United States, Israel, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong and Dubai with various disabilities including Down Syndrome, Autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy.
